General Litigation & Personal Counseling

General and Business Litigation

In addition to business litigation, we also handle disputes of other kinds that affect our clients but are not directly related to business transactions. Typically, disputes not strictly considered business litigation involve issues such as environmental claims, property damage claims, trust and probate disputes, insurance litigation, partnership disputes, trade secret violations, construction disputes and real property ownership disputes.

We frequently act as co‑counsel or associate counsel in general or business litigation where necessary and appropriate to protect the interests of our clients, whether we are retained by the client or by the client's insurer.

Personal Counsel

Personal matters are an inevitable off-shoot of the relationship between a client and business lawyer. Ideally, the same relationship of trust and confidence should readily transfer from business to personal affairs.

These might include trust, probate, and estate planning matters, real property, personal injury, insurance disputes, or family matters. We handle a wide range of these, but if we do not, we locate the appropriate attorneys in the focus area and monitor their relationships with the client, providing "personal counsel" to help oversee the activities of the lawyer we have referred.
